Still working from Brookbank Cottage and a flat in Glasgow on two version 7.2 Media Composers, I have bookings taking me into August 2007.
Currently working on a new series called Great British Journeys for BBC 2, shot on HD and series produced by Michael Waterhouse, Map Man.
Completed a 60 minute documentary for BBC Scotland. Life too Short was filmed by David Peat and deals with living with Cancer, life is precious . . . so it is! RTS 2007 finalist.
Map Man was a finalist in the BAFTA 2005 and was also awarded something at the New York TV festival, I should find out more! Jute Jam and Islam was entered into the 2006 BAFTA Scotland awards.
And finally found time to update this website, first time in 2 years!!
Map Man (2 x Series) BBC TWO (16 x 30 min)
A typical, lovely oddity from BBC2. Map Man - happily not another crass sitcom superhero - is Nick Crane, adventurer and map expert, who explores the most ingenious and revolutionary maps in British cartographic history.
Daily Mail Pick of the Day

One of those slightly batty but beautifully made, and absolutely worthwhile, series that one could never imagine being produced in a TV world dominated by solely commercial considerations rather than the licence fee.

The wider philosophy of mapmaking gives Crane and his series their unique appeal. And to do so in the space of just 30 minutes; now that, too, is a thing of wonder.
